Fabulous Fall

As we head into the fall season, there are a number of exciting events lined up for our locals and visitors to the communities along the A1A Scenic & Historic Coastal Byway.

Music lovers can indulge their senses at the upcoming Sing Out Loud Festival this September in St. Augustine. The series is sponsored by community partners, and the free events give access to some of the best musicians in the area at the family friendly events. For a complete schedule, visit Sing Out Loud for details!

Our friends at the St. Johns Cultural Council have a myriad of events to share for the upcoming season that will satisfy your arts and culture cravings including the Spanish Wine Festival starting September 8th. Find out more by visiting them here.

Outdoor adventure lovers have a number of ways to get their fill while helping keep our community looking great. You can help by participating in the International Coastal Cleanup set for September 16th at beaches and waterways across St. Johns and Flagler Counties.

We're excitedly anticipating the upcoming Spoonbills & Sprockets Cycling Tour on November 5th and Super Scenic 72 Mile Garage Sale on November 18th. Registration is now open for both events and we hope to see you all there!  For information, visit  www.scenica1a.org.

Be sure to check out this month's event, from theArt4Charities at Palencia Club on August 18th!

We are preparing our annual "Tell Us Your Passion" survey to determine what issues are important to our stakeholders along the byway. We hope you'll take a few moments to let us know what's important to you when the survey hits your inbox.

As always we wish you safe travels!

A1A Safety Campaign Gets the Word Out

The Friends of A1A Scenic & Historic Coastal Byway were proud to launch our Safety Tips for Safe Stays Along A1A Campaign this summer in conjunction with a grant from Visit Florida.

Highlighting the importance of pedestrian, cycling, motor vehicle and beach/waterway safety, the campaign is already inspiring members of the community to take action.

Looking to model the pedestrian flag safety initiative in St. Augustine Beach, members of the Hammock area and Flagler Beach are researching similar options to increase safety along busy stretches of A1A.

We hope you'll pick up a brochure or download it from our website (available soon!) and share the information with your friends, family and visitors.

A1A Scenic & Historic Coastal Byway is a proud member of the Florida Scenic Highways Program. Visit Florida Scenic Highways for information on scenic highways and byways across the state.

It's That Time Again!

We're excited to welcome cyclists from across the nation for our annual cycling event!

This year's Spoonbills & Sprockets on November 5th brings new partners and additions to the event including Meehan's Irish Pub and Johnny's Oyster Bar in downtown St. Augustine for our kick off on Saturday, November 4th from 2-5 pm!

Cycling participants will enjoy appetizers and beverages in the historic downtown area before heading out for an evening of fun in the nation's oldest city.

Tune into Beach 105.5 FM for great information on the event and join us for the live remote with JT and Miss Flagler County Daria Tutino on Sunday during Spoonbills!
