We're already halfway into a spectacular summer and the celebrations are just getting started!

Last week's incredible 4th of July activities were enjoyed by thousands along the A1A Scenic Highway from Vilano Beach to Flagler Beach as friends and families gathered for parades, music, food and fireworks.

We are hosting a beach clean up in conjunction with Flagler Hospital on Saturday, July 11th from 8 am to noon at the St. Augustine Beach Pier. Join us for the morning and lend a hand keeping our local beaches clean while getting information about sun health, A1A, Beach 105.5 fm and more! Details below.

The St. Augustine Amphitheatre is keeping the summer lively with great shows including Modest Mouse, Sublime, LIttle Big Town, the EMMA 450th Fiesta and more while offering free family movie nights to entertain the youngsters.  Visit for a peek at their calendar.

We are busy gearing up for our fall events and hope to see you there!  For information on the International Coastal Cleanup, the Super Scenic 72 Mile Garage Sale and our Spoonbills & Sprockets Cycling Tour head over to our website
You can always pick up one of our Scenic A1A Byway Maps at your Chamber of Commerce or access our free MobiTour by visiting First Coast 360.

Click on the newsletter tabs to the left under "Quick Links" for great information about our local communities and what's going on around the area including GTM NERR and our Florida State Parks!

June was a bittersweet month for members of the A1A Scenic Highway community as we celebrated the retirement of our longtime FDOT District 5 Scenic Highway Coordinator, Garry Balogh.

Garry's commitment and dedication to not only the A1A coastal corridor but to the entire Florida Scenic Highways Program has been the driving force behind many of the successful ideas and programs throughout the state.

We wish him many blessings for a happy retirement and a bountiful supply of fish as he enjoys the next step in life!

Many thanks to Bill Walsh, FDOT District Secretary Noranne Downs and FDOT State Landscape Architect Jeff Caster for attending Garry's Retirement Ceremony at the Matanzas Innlet Restaurant and everyone else who made it such a special evening!
Friends of A1A Scenic & Historic Coastal Byway was honored to receive the first FDOT Florida Scenic Highways Garry Balogh Inspiring Excellence Award.

We have had many inquiries about this year's Super Scenic 72 Mile Garage Sale. Get those items ready to sell! Looking to be a vendor? Contact Marge Rooyakkers for information!
