Overview
Just southeast of Lexington, take KY 418 and other named roads in the 8.6 -mile loop named the Boone Creek Scenic Byway. View limestone palisades and waterfalls, horse farms and stone fences, the original Grimes Mill, the 1813 limestone house, now home to the Iroquois Hunt Club. The nearby Boone Station State Historical Site was once a community of 15-20 families established in December 1779 by Daniel Boone and his family. There you will find a 1-mile self-guided trail and picnic tables.
