Overview

Travel through the panhandle with its ever-changing landscapes of high plains, rolling Sandhills, wild prairies, and two wonders- the Toadstool Geological Park and the Agate Fossil Beds National Monument along US 20 between the Wyoming border and Valentine. Learn the area’s history at Merriman-Bowring Ranch State Historical Park through the interpretation of ranching, homesteading, geology, and wildlife of the Sandhills. The Rushville-Sheridan Museum was once a military camp after the Indian Wars. Allow time for boating, fishing, and watersports at the Merritt Reservoir State Recreational Area.
