Overview
This 24-mile road trip from Burlington hugs the sheer sandstone cliffs of the Chuckanut Mountains with views of the San Juans and ends in Bellingham’s historic Fairhaven District. This is a wonderful, slower-paced alternative to driving I-5.
Driving Directions
Chuckanut Drive Scenic Byway (State Route 11) stretches about 22 miles between Burlington and Bellingham. Completed in 1896, Chuckanut Drive provided land access to the community of Fairhaven. Visitors coming from the south can get there from Interstate 5 at exit 231 in Burlington.
