Overview
This western gateway to the Glacier National Park travels by the largest natural freshwater lake in the West, Flathead Lake, and offers opportunities in the summer for hiking, biking, fishing, camping, and lots of outdoor fun including golfing with the valley’s 10 golf courses, In the winter, Whitefish Mountain Resort with its 94 runs and 3,000 acres of skiing, as well as other locations, make the area a preferred destination for skiers of all levels. Also visit the galleries, resorts, cherry orchards, and restaurants in Bigfork; the 1895 Conrad Mansion, shopping, dining, and entertainment in Kalispell; the summer gondola rides and the varied recreational opportunities in Whitehead; and the fishing, boating, and swimming at Flathead Lake. On your way to Glacier National Park, stop in Columbia Falls for snowmobiling in the winter and enjoy the state’s largest waterslide in the summer.
