Gila-Pinal Scenic Road

Overview

Named for the Gila and Pinal Counties this byway travels through, the route follows U.S. 60. Begin in Globe and visit the Besh-Ba-Gowah Archaeological Park to learn about the 800 year-old Salado ruins. Enjoy the pottery and artifacts in the museum, stroll through the botanical gardens, and stop in the gift shop. Continue to leisurely travel through many communities but be sure to stop at the scenic overlook just outside Superior for sweeping views of the area. Continue to the Boyce Thompson Arboretum, a 1920s-era state park with botanical garden trails, flora, and fauna.
