Governor Casey Byway

Overview

Learn about Pennsylvania’s railroad and mining history as you travel this byway on US6 in Lackawanna County between I81 in Dunmore and PA 247 in Jessup. Access the Steamtown National Historic Site, the Pennsylvania Anthracite Heritage Museum, and the Lackawanna Coal Mine in nearby Scranton. The Byway is named after Robert Patrick Casey, Sr. who served as Pennsylvania’s 42nd governor from 1987 to1995.
