Overview
The path along the Moshassuck River Valley offers great vistas at every curve and bend. Open spaces and rolling farmland are dotted with views of towering sycamores amidst the open fields and fir trees. The Great Road dates to 1683 as one of the earliest colonial roads. Portions are listed on the National Register of Historic Places and the Great Road Historic District. At the intersection of Great Road and Breakneck Hill Road lies 150 acres of farmland containing a horse farm and Chase Farm, purchased as open space.
