Overview

Wind through the woodsy hills and dolomite bluffs as you follow the lush Root River Valley. Bike the Root River Trail, fish for trout. or kayak, canoe and tube the river with rental or your own equipment. Tour the Mystery Cave or learn about 1899 Forestville in the state park. Lodging ranges from B &Bs to rustic cabin to elegant rooms with specialty cuisine. Amish buggies are a common sight along the byway.
