The Longhouse Scenic Byway travels in a loop through the Allegheny National Forest and around the Kinzua Creek arm of the Allegheny Reservoir. The area offers many opportunities for hiking, birding, boating, fishing, golfing, hunting, and skiing. Check out the marinas, campgrounds, beaches, and boat launch sites. In the fall, enjoy the changing foliage. Not too far off the path of the byway, visit the Bradford National Historic District, the Eldred World War II Museum, the Old Jail Museum, and the Pennsylvania Lumber Museum among other historic sites. Make time for the Kinzua Skywalk on the nearby Kinzua Scenic Byway. For added enjoyment, stop at the National Comedy Center or enjoy the many wineries, distilleries, and breweries the area has to offer.

Byway Overview
This looped byway travels around the Kinzua Creek arm of the Allegheny Reservoir and through the Allegheny National Forest. The northern hardwoods, surrounded by oak and black cherry, almost create a “tunnel” for travelers. Begin at the intersection of Route 321 and Longhouse Drive. Along the way, you will go past Red Bridge Recreation Area with its campground and bank fishing area as well as other campgrounds, picnic sites, and beaches. Be sure to stop at Jakes Rocks Overlook and Rimrock Overlook and Trail for sweeping views of the area.

Rimrock Overlook and Trail
A 1.3 mile hike. Overlook with large granite boulders and rock outrops. Steps with handrail to "climb" the rocks. Sweeping vistas.

Kinzua Beach
Beach with lakefront swimming, a sandbox, and extensive mowed areas adn beachhouse. No lifeguards. Ducks and other wildlife viewing.

Kinzua Wolf Run Marina
Marina with boat rentals and a cafe. Live music on Sundays.

Cornplanter Bridge
Bridge named for Seneca leader, Cornplanter, who navigated the Seneca Nation through the Revolutionary War and establishment of the Untited States.

An 11-acre campground with a 2.5 mile interpretive trail along the shoreline of Kinzua Bay.
