Overview
This byway links the historic towns of Orange and Paxton as Route 122 passes north of the Quabbin Reservoir along 40 miles of backroads, making for a quiet drive through pristine lands. Orange’s downtown is home to many 19th and early-20th century residential and mill buildings. The Riverfront Park is a great place to put-in and paddle Millers River. Stretches of the byway offer ample opportunities for camping, hiking, biking, horseback riding, fishing, hunting, rock climbing, cross-country skiing, canoeing, kayaking, and wildlife watching.
