Mount Greylock Scenic Byway

Overview

Start at the Mount Greylock State Reservation Park Visitor Center. Mount Greylock is the highest point in Massachusetts. Rising at 3,491 feet, dramatic views of 60-90 miles distance may be seen, offering views of 5 states! Many authors, such as Thoreau, Melville, and Hawthorne have found inspiration here. Stay in the campground or hike the many trails. Be sure to stop at the visitor center, summit, and Western Gateway Heritage State Park.
