Byway Overview
The Nelson Scenic Loop meanders across Nelson County in west central Virginia. Explore the hiking trails, visit Crabtree Falls (tallest waterfall east of the Mississippi River), and enjoy the scenic overlooks. Stretch your legs and enjoy mountain climbing, golfing, hiking, and biking. Save time to see the local potters and painters and enjoy the breweries, cideries, farm markets, and local foods. Communities include Woods Mill, Nellysford, Wintergreen, Roseland, Massies Mill, and Montebello. The area is spectacular for fall foliage.

434-263-7015 In west central Viriginia travel south of Charlottesville on US Highway 29 and begin the byway at the intersection with Rt 6. Travel westward through Nelson County on Rt 151, Rt 664,The Blue Ridge Parkway, and Rt 56.
