Overview
Take this route along the north shore of Lake Huron and visit the many beaches, trails, and natural areas. There are water, hiking, birding, trails, ORV/ATV, and snowmobiling trails. Bring your boat? Use one of the many boat launches along the way. Activities abound no matter the season. In Hessel, check out the Les Cheneaux Culinary School or the Mackinac Bay Nature Preserve. In Cedarville, see the work done at the Great Lakes Boat Building School. The town of DeTour Village offers the DeTour Reef Light Station, the DeTour Passage Museum, and the DeTour State Forest Campground. Take the Drummond Island Ferry – open 365 days of the year for some spectacular views of the area.
