Old Sheldon Church Scenic Byway

Overview

Located on state road S-7-21 between Gardens Corner and Yemassee, this route takes you to the beloved, iconic, some would even say romantic, Sheldon Church ruins. Dating back to the 1740's, the ruins are one of the most photographed sites in the Lowcountry of South Carolina. The route is home to several plantations, and its oak canopies and picturesque wetlands are almost as popular with photographers as the church ruins. Be sure to take the top down or open the sunroof for this drive!
