Panhandle Historic Rivers Passage Scenic Byway

Overview

This byway is the southern leg of the International Selkirk Loop, beginning at the Washington state line then following the northern shore of the Pend Oreille River to Sandpoint, Along the way, enjoy the river scenery and the surrounding forests and farms. Visit the Albeni Falls Dam Visitor Center or enjoy the wildlife viewing, especially osprey in summer and eagles in the winter, along the Pend Oreille and Priest Rivers and the Priest River Wildlife Area. In the winter, ice fishing and downhill skiing are popular activities.
