Overview
Hike through stunning forests or learn about the Gold Rush as you travel from Boise to Stanley on Highway 21 and through the Sawtooth Mountains and the Salmon-Challis National Forest. Enjoy horseback trips to nearby alpine lakes surrounded by the lush pine forest. This byway is open year round, but check road conditions in winter as avalanche conditions exist in the Banner Summit area, causing road closures.
