Quarts-Loon Scenic Drive

Overview

This drive travels by the Kootenai River for the first 5 miles as it approaches the Cabinet Mountains. Wildlife viewing includes whitetail deer, ruffed grouse, beaver, elk, and black bear. Moose may be seen at the upper Quartz/Loon Lake area and blue heron, loons, and osprey at Loon Lake. The route is on good quality paved or graveled roads. Watch for logging traffic
