Overview
This byway encompasses a network of scenic roads between the western slopes of the White Mountains and the Connecticut River. Highlights include Franconia Notch, views of Franconia Ridge and the Kinsmans from Sugar Hill, driving beside the Mad River to Waterville Valley, views of the Connecticut River Valley, and access to lakes and streams throughout the region. Since the River Heritage Trail is actually a rather complex network, travelers can use the information on the website to design their own itinerary for multiple tours through this diverse region.
