Overview
Travel from the wide-open country at Solomons to the city of Baltimore as you retrace the battles during the War of 1812 and what inspired the “Star Spangled Banner.” In Solomon, cruise the Chesapeake Bay and Patuxent River in a wooden work boat or other charter vessels and enjoy a visit to the Calvert Maritime Museum and the Annmarie Sculpture Garden and Arts Center. In Hollywood, stop at the Sotterley Plantation with its 1703 mansion, Colonial Revival Gardens, and nature trails. The Calvert Cliffs State Park near Lusby has dramatic cliffs lining the shoreline and is the home to 600 known types of fossils.
