Overview

This route travels from the Seward Highway to picturesque Homer. The northern route treats travelers to natural scenery and unlimited recreational opportunities. Along the way see the Kenai Lake, Kenai River, and Russian River and allow for extra time to camp, fish, or canoe. The southern route will take you past four volcanoes as part of the Pacific “Rim of Fire.” The area is home to many seabirds and marine animals. Learn more about them and their habitats at the new Alaska Islands and Ocean Visitor Center in Homer.
