Stacy A. Brown has served as President of the Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau for 20 years and has more than 35 years of experience in the travel and tourism industry. She joined the bureau as Vice President of Communications. A division of the bureau, the Boom or Bust Byway is flourishing under Stacy’s direction, bringing new visitation to the rural areas.
Under her leadership, the bureau has received zero exception audits and has become accredited under Destinations International’s Destination Marketing Accreditation Program. In 2019 the four-year renewal was received after successfully complying with 58 mandatory and 30 voluntary standards.
She has earned her Certified Destination Management Executive from the Destinations International. She currently serves on a number of boards including the National Scenic Byway Foundation, the Louisiana Association of Convention & Visitor Bureaus, as well as local boards. Stacy was chosen as one of “5 Over 50” by Biz Magazine in 2015 and presented the Athena Award in 2006.
She has been a guest speaker for national, state and local tourism conferences.
Stacy is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University. She has served as a mentor for high school and university students in the communications, journalism and marketing fields. An active member in her church, Stacy has taught Sunday school and served as a leader for Awanas.
Along with her husband Gary, Stacy lives in the Benton area. They have two children and two grandchildren.
